Charlotte Pride has announced its headliners for this year’s festival which will feature Atlanta rapper/singer, Baby Tate. Formerly known as Yung Baby Tate, the 27-year-old artist is coming off her 2022 tour run opening for Charli XCX, and most recently, a viral freestyle on the YouTube show, On The Radar Radio, paying tribute to the women that inspired her.

Tate is the daughter of singer Dionne Farris, who is best known as the voice featured in the Arrested Development early ’90s hit song, “Tennessee.” Tate released her latest studio album, Mani/Pedi, in 2022, and most recent EP, Sexploration: The Musical, in October. She has collaborated with Flo Milli, Saweetie, 2 Chainz, Ashnikko, and Buddy, throughout her career.

Charlotte Pride also announced electro dance-pop artist Slayyyter and Bob the Drag Queen (winner of the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race) will accompany Tate as festival headliners.

Founded in 2000, Charlotte Pride launched its first festival in 2001, and it has grown to become the largest LGBTQ celebration in the Carolinas, expanding its programming year-round. The multi-day festival features a variety of national, regional, and local entertainers with a parade, pageant, and hundreds of vendors (including art exhibits, local shops, a food court, and more). Last year’s event was headlined by Miami rapper Trina and New Orleans bounce music pioneer Big Freedia.

Charlotte Pride 2024 will take place August 17-18 in uptown Charlotte. Check out more info about the festivities including parade, vendor, and entertainment applications from the official Charlotte Pride website.
