Charlotte Pride Festival will return to Uptown for the first time in two years on August 20-21. Founded in 2000, Charlotte Pride launched their first festival in 2001 and has grown to become the largest LGBTQ celebration of its kind in the Carolinas, drawing over 200,000 patrons in 2019.
The two-day cultural festival features a variety of national, regional, and local entertainers, musicians, bands, and hundreds of vendor booths, including art exhibits, local shops, a food court, and much more.
The Charlotte Pride Drag Pageant will take place on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Charlotte Pride Community Stage. Watch some of the best local drag performers compete for the crowns of Mx. Charlotte Pride, Ms. Charlotte Pride, and Mr. Charlotte Pride.
The Charlotte Pride Parade will take place on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., celebrating 20 years of Charlotte Pride and 40 years of the pride movement in Charlotte, with more than 180 contingents, 40-plus floats, and 10,000 marchers.
