Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, known by his stage name Logic, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Raised in Gaithersburg, Logic expressed an interest in music as a teenager, and ventured into a musical career in early 2009, releasing a mixtape titled Young, Broke & Infamous in 2010. He would then sign with Visionary Music Group in 2011, before releasing two additional mixtapes over two years.
His fourth mixtape, Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever (2013), was released to critical acclaim, and allowed Logic to secure a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings. He later released his debut studio album Under Pressure in October 2014, to mainly critical and commercial success. The single “Under Pressure” preceded the release, and the album debuted at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200, eventually becoming certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Logic’s second studio album, The Incredible True Story, was released in November 2015. The album received mostly positive reviews from critics, and sold over 135,000 copies on the first week of release. The album drew on incorporating cinematic elements and rap opera, and debuted at number 3 in the US. The album was also later certified gold by the RIAA, with sales of over 500,000 copies in the United States.
The album was followed by the commercial mixtape Bobby Tarantino in 2016. The mixtape marked Logic’s first mixtape in three years, and also showed him returning to include musical elements considered missing from his commercial releases. The mixtape also contained the single “Flexicution”, and sold a combined 100,000 units across the US. In May of 2017 he released Everybody which recently went #1 on the Billboard 200. – via Wikipedia
