Update 9/29: Aerosmith has postponed all of the remaining shows on its farewell tour until 2024 because of a vocal injury suffered by its frontman, Steven Tyler, according to a statement made by the band on Facebook.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Aerosmith have announced their final tour celebrating 50-plus years together as a band. The Peace Out Tour will hit 40 cities this fall and winter with The Black Crowes, kicking off in September in Philadelphia, stopping in Raleigh on September 24 (PNC Arena) and Charlotte on October 17 (Spectrum Center).

Aerosmith was formed in Boston in 1970 by original members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford. The band went on to win four Grammy Awards becoming one of the best-selling rock bands in history with over 150 million records sold worldwide, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Aerosmith last performed in Charlotte and Raleigh in 2006 for their Route of All Evil Tour. Tickets will go on sale Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. (local time).
