Bernie Sanders in Charlotte on Monday

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders announced Saturday that the presidential candidate and his campaign will be in Charlotte for the first time at PNC Music Pavilion for a late afternoon rally. Entry to the venue begins at 1:30 p.m.

Sanders will be discussing a range of issues at his first Charlotte event, including college affordability, immigration reform and the economy.

North Carolina will be one of five crucial states, including Florida, Ohio, Illinois and Missouri in Tuesday’s presidential primary. Bernie Sanders currently trails Hillary Clinton by 655 delegates while North Carolina holds 121 delegates, and the collective states during Tuesday’s primary combine to tally 793.

This event is free and open to all, but RSVPs are encouraged.
