The inaugural Breakaway Music Festival curated and organized by the Ohio-based entertainment company Prime Social Group kicked off their first-year campaign in 2017 with an impressive turnout. The lineup boasted a combination of hip-hip and EDM acts for a successful one-day event at the North Carolina Music Factory. The festival will expand to two days this year with updated production and multiple stages on October 12 and 13 at the same location.
The initial lineup announced today features DJ, saxophonist and music producer GRiZ headlining Friday night with the controversial “Gucci Gang” rapper Lil Pump alongside Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Skies, and Hoodie Allen. The multi-city fest with the reputation of showcasing top-notch EDM talent will also include Louis The Child, Nghtmre, 3LAU, and Charlotte’s own Styles & Complete. There will be more artists announced in August with the Saturday hip-hop headliner which is sure to impress.
Adam Lynn, co-founder and managing partner at Prime Social Group (PSG) is excited about the growth of the festival in Charlotte, “We think Charlotte is an amazing home for Breakaway as well as some other festivals we’ll be bringing to town. Charlotte is one of the fastest growing cities in the country for good reason and we are looking to invest in this city long term,” said Lynn. In addition to the expanded lineup and production the event will also include a local craft beer garden that will feature NoDa Brewing, Lenny Boy, Hoppin’, Bottle Cap Group, and more. There will also be more local vendors this year with yoga, silent disco, and on-site brand-sponsored experiences.
Breakaway Festival happens on October 12 and 13 at the North Carolina Music Factory. Two-day GA passes start at $99 (will go up) and are now on sale. Want to become a vendor at Breakaway Charlotte 2018?
