Anthony Hamilton, Bleachers and Umphrey’s McGee will headline Charlotte SHOUT! Festival

Grammy award-winning R&B/soul-singer Anthony Hamilton, indie pop band Bleachers and Umphrey’s McGee will headline the first Charlotte SHOUT! festival in Uptown Charlotte April 27-May 11. Kicking off with Charlotte Jazz Festival and culminating with a three-day celebration of art, music, food and more, this festival will feature over 75 events that highlight local artists, musicians, chefs and more.

“Charlotte SHOUT! is going to be nothing like this city has ever seen,” said Robert Krumbine, Chief Creative Officer for Charlotte Center City Partners, in a press release. “We are so excited to celebrate our amazing local talent and allow all Charlotteans to experience incredible artists and thought leaders from around the world.”

Highlights of Charlotte SHOUT! include:


20 Charlotte Jazz Festival-affiliated events from April 29 – May 4, including trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

Romare Bearden Park Stage from 5-11 p.m., May 9-11: 

Thursday, May 9:  R&B singer and Charlotte native Anthony Hamilton

Friday, May 10: Umphrey’s McGee

Saturday, May 11: Bleachers

  • Music stage at 7th and Tryon: The Hamiltones, Curt Keyz featuring Greg Cox and Jason Jet, The Queen’s Guard, Maimouna Youssef featuring The XMen, DJ Fannie Mae, and more


  • Festival attendees will be invited to participate in a creative street art project
  • Convergence Plaza, at Trade and Tryon, will include programming from various community groups including the Festival of India and Hola Charlotte
  • A large-scale, multimedia, interactive installation featuring photographs of 250 children in Charlotte displayed on the façade of the Main Library building


Most of the Charlotte SHOUT! events are free to attend, but some do require tickets, which will go on sale at 10 a.m. on March 25 at
