Common Market announced today a new location in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Cotswold. Just a block from where Commonwealth Ave. dead ends into Monroe Road, the new Common Market “OakWold” will add some character to the neighborhood.

Common Market “OakWold” will be 6,500 square feet with a newly created 1,300 square foot covered patio along with garage door access leading to the interior portion of the store. The new design will include many of the features of the other Common Markets; a full deli, coffee, craft beer and a heady wine selection. The new “OakWold” location will also include a full U-shaped bar, as well as an expanded kitchen focusing on prepared foods and take-out options.

“We wanted to help provide a place for the surrounding neighborhoods to gather as we felt there was that sense of community emerging in the area.” said Chuck Barger, owner of The Common Market. “In the past couple of years, we have run into so many people in our stores from the area who stress how great the area is and how they would embrace a Common Market. We took on that feedback and decided to move forward as CM OakWold is committed to grow with the ever-changing community.”

The renovation is underway and they’ll be targeting an opening in Spring of 2017. The Common Market will also be hosting a gathering at Clayworks on February 6 at 5 p.m. for all residents to join in on the conversation on how to make the new location best serve the neighborhood.
