The Arts & Science Council has launched a new podcast ‘Culture For All’ to help educate Mecklenburg County voters about the proposed quarter-cent sales tax on the November 5 ballot.

The quarter-cent sales tax will support arts and culture, parks and greenways, and a teacher pay supplement all totaling $50 million with $22.5 million for arts and culture, $17 million for parks and recreation, and $8 million for teacher pay.

“It is critical for voters in Mecklenburg County to be informed and understand how the proposed sales tax will benefit them as they prepare to vote in November,” said Jeep Bryant, ASC president. “This podcast is one effective way to provide facts and impact stories from residents across Mecklenburg County and also hear from listeners and answer their questions.”

The first season of the new podcast will provide listeners with facts about the proposed sales tax and arts stories. Hosted by Valecia McDowell, John W. Love, Jr., Mary C. Curtis, Banu Valladares, and Glenn Burkins, the ‘Culture For All’ Podcast is produced by Andy Goh and includes original music by Harvey Cummings II.

The ‘Culture For All’ podcast is available on major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, SoundCloud, TuneIn and on ASC’s website. Listeners are also encouraged to ask questions and leave their feedback by calling 704-286-6288 or emailing asc@artsandscience.org.
