Connect with Culture Days 2020

ASC’s sixth annual Connect with Culture Days brings cultural experiences to neighborhoods throughout Charlotte-Mecklenburg over two days. Charlotte residents and visitors can attend museums and enjoy diverse arts, science, history and heritage experiences for free at various times and locations throughout Mecklenburg County on Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020.
“Ensuring Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents have access to arts and cultural experiences close to where they live is a vital part of the work we do,” said ASC President Jeep Bryant. “ASC’s Connect with Culture Days is just one way for residents and visitors to sample the variety of diverse cultural experiences provided by organizations and artists right here in their community.”
Connect with Culture Days kicks off the evening of Friday, Feb. 7 with free cultural experiences taking place along the light rail line, including:
Those who make a $25 donation can extend the opening night activities at The Collector’s Room (1520 S. Tryon St., Charlotte 28203) for the kick-off to Connect with Culture Days Celebration, which includes a festive multicultural food experience, open bar, performances by Nicci Canada and Nouveau Sud and an interactive art experience by local artist Jonathan Grauel.
On Saturday, community facilities will become “arts and cultural hubs” to present cultural programming at the neighborhood level across Charlotte-Mecklenburg, including:
Free admission to museums, including Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Mint Museum Uptown, Levine Museum of the New South and McColl Center for Art + Innovation
