Gladys Knight is a seven-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and actress often referred to as the “Empress of Soul.” Knight came to prominence in the ’60s with her band The Pips and went on to earn eleven No. 1 R&B singles and six No. 1 R&B albums. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Pips in 1996.
