The launch of the new Jazz @ the Gantt series will feature renowned jazz pianist Anthony Wonsey Quintet featuring trumpeter Wallace Roney Jr.

While a student at Berklee College of Music, Wonsey played locally with Roy Hargrove and Antonio Hart and toured with Kenny Garrett. He relocated to New York City and then played with John Coltrane’s legendary drummer Elvin Jones and his group, The Jazz Machine.

Produced by Ocie Davis– jazz drummer and co-founder JazzArts Charlotte– the series will present modern jazz musicians from New York City, where the history of jazz music runs deep.
