The Queen of R&B, hip-hop and soul, Mary J. Blige and legendary Queensbridge rapper Nas have announced a co-headlining tour. The 22-city tour will kick off July 11 in West Palm Beach, FL and come through Charlotte on July 24 to PNC Music Pavilion and Raleigh on July 25.
Mary J. Blige is a singer, songwriter, and actress who started her career on Uptown Records in 1989 and has released 13 studio albums, eight of which have achieved multi-platinum sales. Blige has won nine Grammy Awards and sold over 80 million records. She has also received three Golden Globe Award nominations for her supporting role in the film Mudbound (2017) and another for its second original song “Mighty River.” Blige has also received a nomination for the Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Song, becoming the first to be nominated for songwriting and acting in the same year.
Son of a jazz musician, Nas is the songwriter and rapper from Queensbridge with eight multi-platinum albums. His 1994 debut album Illmatic has been praised as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all-time. He was ranked MTV’s No. 5 greatest MC and The Source named him No. 2 lyricist of all-time.
