Open at 6:30 p.m. Halloween night only, an annual yard haunt by two Elizabeth residents who spent the better part of September and October building this experience. Each year, new attractions are added– last year, a 28-foot whirling vortex tunnel led the way into the adventure. This year, they have collected a huge stack of branches, and have framed out the porch with 2x4s– the purpose, they say, is a secret until Halloween night. In addition, their haunt features animatronics, live performers (fire-eaters!), a realistic thunder-and-lightening show, and (debuting this year) a psychedelic room requiring 3D glasses.
In its seventh year, Rosemont Manor (at the 2100 block of East 5th Street between Osborne and Ridgeway) annually draws over 1000 visitors. Rosemont Manor is appropriate for all ages– although parents with very young children may choose not to enter some of the attractions.
This year Rosemont Manor haunt will have special performances by Satarah and Stray Cat Sideshow.
