Blumenthal Arts’ latest exhibit experience, Space Explorers: The Infinite, opens at the new Blume Studios this week. Inspired by real-life NASA missions, the exhibit will transport attendees to outer space through awe-inspiring virtual reality created by three-dimensional 360-degree cameras. The experience is created by Montreal-based virtual reality entertainment company, Felix & Paul Studios, an Emmy Award-winning studio that produced Space Explorers: The ISS Experience and The People’s House. They have also worked with Universal Pictures, National Geographic, SpaceX, Uninterrupted (LeBron James), President Barack Obama, Wes Anderson, and Cirque du Soleil.
Space Explorers: The Infinite will be the first resident of Blume Studios Stage 1, a 32,000 sq. ft. warehouse transformed into an artistic playground hosting interactive exhibits with a full service bar and market located in the new Iron District.
The world’s leading immersive space exhibit will allow viewers to experience breathtaking views of Earth filmed from the astronauts’ perspective, capturing the depth and immensity of the universe. The hour-long adventure will take you through four captivating chapters including a 3D virtual reality tour of the International Space Station (shot onboard in space), exclusive footage of NASA’s Artemis I rocket launch to the moon, the first-ever virtual reality spacewalk, and an audio/visual installation (The Universe within the Universe) by renowned artist Ryoji Ikeda.
Space Explorers: The Infinite will run from September 20 through November 10 at Blume Studios (904 Post St., Charlotte, NC 28208). Tickets start at $54.95 for adults (13 and older) and $39.95 for children 8-12.
