Levine Museum of the New South invites you to the expansion of their annual fundraising event, Taste of the New South. A welcoming, come-as-you-are event, Taste of the New South has long been one of Charlotte’s favorite annual fundraisers, attracting a diverse crowd from all parts of the city. Now, they’re moving the event to a larger venue and pairing the festivities with a very special talk by a remarkable young leader.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, acclaimed filmmaker, and immigration advocate Jose Antonio Vargas will headline Taste 2019 at the Fillmore. In his new book, Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen, Vargas dispels common misconceptions and false perceptions of the immigration process and the millions of people who consider themselves Americans without papers. Vargas is known as a riveting and highly entertaining presenter.
With a great speaker and delicious food, Taste 2019 promises to be a compelling, thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable evening.
