The Black Mecca is a multi-faceted festival bringing together unique music, art and tech activations to celebrate black culture in the community. This festival experience will combine the essence of the millennial culture through a variety of musical acts, distinctive art exhibitions and one of a kind virtual/augmented reality tech activations. The event will have a Black Mecca “hub” within the Spokehub app, food trucks, a variety of vendors, lifestyle pop-up activations, Limebike scooters with charitable donations going to Behailu Academy.
The music lineup includes headliner and Top Dawg Entertainment artist SiR, rapper/singer Kari Faux, the Queen City’s own Deniro Farrar, R&B singer Cyanca and violinist/soul singer Bri Blvck.
The Black Mecca will be hosted by Watch Jazzy with additional performances by Grits & Biscuits, Poet Jasmine Mans, DJ Violet Waters, AfroPop Nation, DMFN featuring DJ Fannie Mae, BLA/ALT Fest (Feat. Leanna Eden & The Garden Of), and Simon Smthng.
The unique tech aspect of this event includes engaging augmented and virtual reality experiences curated by PetieParker, Odd Gatsby and the premier tech sponsor Spokehub. The highly anticipated art exhibition will feature BAMR, Murjoni, Marcus Kiser, Dooga Art, and more.
