Celebrate hip-hop culture, music, and art with performances and installations by visual artists, b-boys, DJs, spoken word poets, graffiti artists, and more. Slammaster Boris “Bluz” Rogers, visual artist Bree Stallings, CrayzeeBeat Dance founder AJ Glasco and Heal Charlotte Executive Director Greg Jackson have come together in collaboration with Blumenthal Performing Arts to present this multi-day celebration of hip-hop.
The two-day weekend will kick off on Saturday with a DJ competition, 7 to smoke b-boy battles, and live dance performances from Charlotte professional dancers, and international dance artists. On Sunday, the festival welcomes the community for a faith-friendly after-church, “We Outside Block Party.”
Saturday, September 17:
4 p.m. – 6 p.m. – 7 to smoke all styles battles
6 p.m. – 8 p.m. – DJ battles
We Are Hip Hop Dance Showcase at 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 18:
12 p.m. – 5 p.m. – We Outside Block Party
