The Art Institute of Charlotte “Take Out” Fundraiser
January 7, 2016 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, $25-$30 at The Art Institute of Charlotte
The Piedmont Culinary Guild is working with The Art Institute of Charlotte early this year to honor a student of the Institute who recently passed away. The event is raising funds for the student’s children through the sale of family sized meals available for pick up January 7th at the Art Institute. Consider placing an order at 704-574-4459 and hold a thoughtful family meal in the name of charity. The menu is everything comfort food should be, perfect for a reflective and thankful night in: 1/2 of a roasted chicken and gravy, mac and cheese, collard greens, and glazed carrots. You also have the option to add a bananas foster bread pudding for desert for an added $5.
Heirloom Blind Squirrel Tasting
January 10, 2016 6 PM – 9 PM, $40 at Heirloom
Benefiting the Carolina Farm Trust, Heirloom is hosting a paired 4 course meal with Blind Squirrel Brewery’s craft beer. Veggies, you’re included too! Vegetarian and vegan options for the pairing are available upon prior request and will definitely wow your tastebuds as assiduously as your carnivorous cohorts. This is sure to be a meal for the books. Blind Squirrel Brewery, based in Newland, North Carolina, will be bringing out some solid brew including an IPA, blond, and brown ale, as well as a signature caffeinated cocktail to be enjoyed with dessert. Yum!

Are you into all the delights the south has to offer: bbq, beer and a little rum? Join the Improper Pig, Muddy River Distillery and Birdsong Brewing for a unique pairing of all of these things! Your ticket includes a 4 course meal from the Improper Pig along with 4 total pairings from both Muddy River and Birdsong plus…free giveaways! Enjoysmoked chipotle beer chili topped with cheese and cilantro lime creme coupled with a local favorite, Mexicali Stout, and look forward to vanilla raisin bread pudding topped with muddy River spiced rum sauce paired with Muddy River’s spiced rum.
