It was announced yesterday that Canadian singer/producer Grimes and Swedish indie-pop band Miike Snow will be joining the 2016 Moogfest lineup. They’ll be joining an already impressive lineup that includes GZA, Gary Numan, ODESZA, Blood Orange, Laurie Anderson, Explosions in the Sky, Comedian Reggie Watts, Nick Sanborn (Sylvan Esso), and many more.

Hailed by The New York Times for “its mom-and-pop technosophy and its insistence on immersive experiences in small, comfortable spaces,” Moogfest stands out from most festivals due to a distinctive format where many headlining artists not only perform in the evening, but also join panels and lead workshops during the day.

Inspired by the legacy of Dr. Robert Moog, who invented the Moog synthesizer and other technologies that continue to change how people hear and experience the world, Moogfest is a four-day festival exploring how new technology tools are transforming the future of creativity. The citywide festival takes place in venues across Durham, North Carolina, named one the hottest cities for tech in 2016 by Business Insider, and just a few hours from the employee-owned Moog Music factory in Asheville.
