On Friday, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar swapped freestyles over each other’s instrumentals in honor of Black Friday. Kendrick raps over J. Cole’s Forest Hills Drive track “A Tale Of 2 Citiez,” while J. Cole spits on  “Alright,” a track off of To Pimp A Butterfly.

The Fayetteville, North Carolina born rapper, J. Cole and Compton’s own Lamar, who are close friends and collaborators, have been hinting at a joint project for a while, but no details have surfaced until now. J. Cole says in the last line of his freestyle “but this February, bet sh*t gets scary when I f*ck around and drop.” Fans hope, this may be a clue that the album release date is coming soon.
