Magic Johnson will return to Gastonia this week in support of the Honey Hunters baseball team

Five-time NBA Champion, Hall of Famer, and business mogul Magic Johnson will be in Gastonia this week to continue his support for independent baseball league team, the Gastonia Honey Hunters and their owner Brandon Bellamy. The Honey Hunters announced on Sunday the NBA legend will be at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia on Friday, September 9 for a meet-and-greet from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gas House Bar & Grill inside the ballpark. According to their social media accounts, the meet-and-greet will end at 6 p.m. sharp and fans will be allowed to bring one item to be signed.

Johnson threw out the honorary first pitch in the Honey Hunters inaugural game last year to support owner Brandon Bellamy, a real estate developer who is also the first Black majority owner of a professional baseball team.
