Harry Potter Night at the Rink

Muggles and wizard folk unite to celebrate the end of the skating season at a magical night devoted to all things Harry Potter. There will be a costume contest with prizes, house sorting, movies, music, and Butterbeer! No word on whether or not there will be any Weasley’s Wildfire Whiz-bangs being fired.

Monster Jam

The 2016 touring season brings more Monster Jam excitement, providing entertainment tailored perfectly for your family’s budget, and these colorful, larger-than-life beasts are sure to capture the hearts of both young and old. This event will feature eight different trucks including Captain’s Curse, Doomsday, El Toro Loco, Grave Digger, Hot Wheels, Mad Scientist, MM Dalmatian and Zombie Hunter.

Rifftrax Live: Starship Troopers

The stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 take on the late 90s classic sci-fi B movie Starship Troopers. Watch as they make commentary on alien bugs being shot up by teenage earth kids who spend as much time flirting as they do fighting. If you’re a fan of either the show or the movie then this is not to be missed.

Macs, grab your best dame and bring her to this shindig celebrating the Prohibition era. Gals, you can make your own flapper headband and then get your guy on the dancefloor to swing the night away. If you get pinched by the fuzz, you can have your mugshot taken at the Bootlegger Photo Booth. Interested in learning how to brew your own hooch? The fellas at Cheers Charlotte will show you how in the Explore More area. There will also be a hotsy-totsy costume contest.

Art & Orchids Opening Weekend Reception

Orchids are some of the world’s most photographed flowers, which is why Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is pairing their orchids with three outstanding photographers from North Carolina to present Flowers in Focus. Join the photographers, Greg Allikas, Julie McMillan, and Rick Haithcox for a special tour of the exhibition and wine tasting. The NC Piedmont Orchid Society will also be on hand with orchids for sale. The exhibit will run until March 22, 2016.

Put on your best suit (dress or track) and grab your dancing shoes for this tribute party to the works of Quentin Tarantino. There will be music by DJs Jules Winfield & Vincent Vega as well as live music from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack by Dub Sea. If you consider yourself a Tarantino aficionado, then you can prove it in a trivia contest. You might even be able to grab yourself a “Royale with Cheese” while there.

Put on your best tights and masks to gather around the cardboard boxes and fold up tables.
