This Fourth of July weekend ditch the usual fireworks, patriotic Chubbies, and brats. Instead, show your ’Merican pride with a nice, cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and head over to Snug Harbor’s “Squirt Day Party.” The party is a booze-fueled day of summer vibes and fun brought to you by some of Charlotte’s most buzzing acts. The fun fest is typically the last Saturday of every month, but the folks over at Snug Harbor had something special planned for this weekend, opting to host the party in conjunction with the holiday weekend. This Saturday we’re in for a very special treat with a performance from Three 6 Mafia’s own Gangsta Boo.

Gangsta Boo, also known as Lola Mitchell, split from the group in ’98 and has since fostered a healthy career of guest features on tracks for artists like Foxy Brown, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, Run The Jewels and Lil Jon. Gangsta Boo is preparing for the release of her mixtape “Candy, Diamonds, Pills,” which includes the brand new single “Kill Bitches,” produced by none other than close friend Project Pat.

Also scheduled to perform is Charlotte’s own Elevator Jay. Jay, a fan favorite, has been making music in Charlotte since 2005 and has watched his fanbase grow over the years. Elevator Jay is fresh off the release of his “Sum’na Say” EP, a soul infused blend of Hip-Hop & Funk, reminiscent of the late 90’s Outkast with a hint of Ludacris. The 11 track project demonstrates Jay’s flow range on must-hear tracks like “Chicken Wangz” and “Got Damn.”

Permanent Vacation’s J Overcash, Ahuf, and Strtr will be behind the turntables. The festivities begin at 3 p.m. and the fun doesn’t end until 7. You don’t want to miss this: It’s sure to be a good time. The city is in for a treat with this new way to spice up the Fourth of July holiday.
