There are two days left to do some GOOD in the Charlotte community via SHARE Charlotte’s 2nd annual SummerSHARE campaign, which supports 77 local nonprofits during the summer when donations are typically at an all-time low. SummerSHARE makes it incredibly easy to give nonprofits the items they need like diapers, alarm clocks, kitchen items, etc. via their Give Shop.
“Most people don’t know that summer is a huge time of need for many nonprofits,” says SHARE Charlotte Founder and Executive Director Kelly Brooks. “There are very specific needs so we’ve made it super easy for Charlotteans to do something good with just a couple of clicks on their computer, whether they’re at home or on vacation!”
The SummerSHARE campaign is making it possible for many nonprofits to fulfill their missions and do good in the Charlotte community not just during the summer months, but also throughout the entire year.
“SHARE Charlotte’s SummerSHARE campaign has been such a joy for us at A Child’s Place,” says Delana Murdock, volunteer coordinator. “We’ve been receiving an abundance of donations that are going to provide essential needs to our families the entire year as well as help our staffs productivity so they are better able to serve. We are overwhelmed with excitement to share our items with A Child’s Place clients for the 2016/2017 school year!”
No matter your interest, there’s an organization as part of SummerSHARE that could use your help, including Charlotte Art League, Friendship Trays, Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, Classroom Central, Girls Rock Charlotte, and so many more.
Google Fiber and Charlotte’s HM Properties are on board as official sponsors of this year’s SummerSHARE campaign.
“We are thrilled to be a part of SummerSHARE,” HM Properties owner Valerie Mitchener said. “We are in the business of making Charlotte home for our clients, so it’s only natural for us to partner with an organization devoted to making Charlotte a better and stronger community.”
To do some good before Friday, visit summershare.com and buy something off your favorite local nonprofit’s summer needs list.
