Coming off an impressive win over Michigan last Wednesday night, the 13th-ranked Tar Heels came into Charlotte to face the Davidson Wildcats. Although the Wildcats started fast with some streaky three-point shooting and solid team defense, they weren’t able to tame senior point guard Joel Berry II who had 27 points and Huntersville, NC native Luke Maye who scored 24 points and had a career high 17 rebounds. The Davidson Wildcats were able to stay competitive throughout the game with solid shooting performance by sophomore guard Jon Axel Gudmundsson who dropped 19 points with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Freshman guard Kellan Grady also added 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to hold back the late surge by the defending National Champions who came away with the 85-75 victory.
