Decorated Canadian alternative rock star Alanis Morissette returns to Charlotte this week for the first time since 2021’s Jagged Little Pill 25th anniversary tour. Best known for her hits “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” “Ironic,” and “You Learn, Morissette is a multiple Grammy and Juno Award-winner. Morissette has released 10 studio albums with her latest, The Storm Before the Calm, in 2022. Her third studio album, Jagged Little Pill, released in 1995, won her the Grammy for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album, selling more than 33 million copies worldwide.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett and her band, the Blackhearts, will join Morissette on this tour. Jett, who was also a founding member of the all-female rock band, The Runaways, which disbanded in 1979, formed Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in the early ’80s. They are best known for their songs “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and “I Love Rock ‘n Roll.”
Morgan Wade is a country singer-songwriter and musician from Floyd, Virginia. Wade broke through with her debut album, Reckless, in 2021, produced by Sadler Vaden of Jason Isbell’s 400 Unit, featuring popular singles “Wilder Days” and “Take Me Away.” Wade followed up with Psychopath in 2023, and she is expected to release a new album, Obsessed, on August 16.
