Monday, April 7
Poppy with opener House of Protection at The Fillmore (8:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $53 plus
Experimental pop/metal artist Moriah Rose Pereira, better known by her stage name Poppy, brings her They’re All Around Us Tour to Charlotte this week, joined by Los Angeles electronic hardcore rock band House of Protection. Poppy is coming off the release of her latest album, Negative Spaces, which dropped in November.
See Bird Go Presents All My Friends Are Fly at Snug Harbor (8:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $10 plus
All My Friends Are Fly is a recurring event series curated by DJ See Bird Go, featuring R&B, Amapiano, house, and hip-hop. The weekly dance party includes special guest performances and DJ sets.
Tuesday, April 8
Half Alive, The Walters, and Mehro at The Fillmore (7:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $50.75 plus
Long Beach, California indie pop band Half Alive, known for their hits “Still Feel” and “The Fall,” will perform at The Fillmore this week, joined by Chicago’s The Walters and fast-rising indie-folk rock artist Mehro.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies at Spectrum Center (7:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $24.47 plus
The Hornets take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in their final home game of the season. While Charlotte has been eliminated from playoff contention, Memphis is battling for the sixth seed to avoid the play-in tournament. After LaMelo Ball underwent season-ending surgery on his ankle and wrist earlier this month, CLTure writer James Plowright evaluated his 2024-25 season and future.
Squirrel Nut Zippers at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Trailblazing Chapel Hill, North Carolina, gypsy jazzsters Squirrel Nut Zippers return to Charlotte this week to take fans on a journey through the origins of jazz with their new show, Jazz from the Back O’ Town. Known for their blend of Delta blues and 1930s-era swing, SNZ achieved commercial success during the swing revival of the late ’90s. The band will also perform favorites from their own catalog, adapted and arranged to more closely echo the sounds of 1920s New Orleans.
Wednesday, April 9
Experience Hendrix at Bojangles Coliseum (7:30 p.m.)

The Experience Hendrix Tour celebrates the legacy of Jimi Hendrix, featuring guitarists Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Zakk Wylde, Eric Johnson, Devon Allman, Samantha Fish, and Noah Hunt. The three-hour performance will showcase unique renditions of Hendrix’s iconic tracks such as “Purple Haze,” “Little Wing,” and “Voodoo Child,” with each artist bringing their own distinctive style, honoring Hendrix.
ONEWE at Blackbox Theater (7:00 p.m.)

Alternative K-pop rock band ONEWE will perform in Charlotte this week, following the release of their new album We: Dream Chaser in March.
New Translations with opener Ali Forrest at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $19 plus
Up-and-coming Nashville synth-rock band New Translations will headline Neighborhood Theatre on their tour in support of their album Vacation, released on February 14. They’ll be joined by Charlotte indie folk singer-songwriter Ali Forrest, who released her debut full-length project Cagefighter in January.
FOMO Night – Wednesday Night Live at Levine Avenue of the Arts (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
Tickets: Free
On Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy free access to The Mint Museum, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center, with DJs and bars serving drinks. Then, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., the block party kicks off on Levine Avenue of the Arts.
AWOLNATION with opener Bryce Fox at The Fillmore (8:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $48 plus
AWOLNATION, the alternative pop/rock band best known for their massive Diamond-certified hit, “Sail,” will perform in Charlotte this week in support of their fifth studio album, The Phantom Five, released in August. Joining them on stage will be Nashville-based electro-rock/blues artist Bryce Fox.
Spy with openers Brass Tongue, Laid Out, and Jiu Jitsu at The Milestone (8:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $15 plus
Bay Area hardcore punk band Spy will headline The Milestone on Wednesday night, supporting their new EP, Seen Enough, released on February 21. They’ll be joined by hardcore bands Brass Tongue, Laid Out, and Jiu Jitsu as openers.

The Millennium Tour at Spectrum Center (8:00 p.m.)

Frankie Farr Entertainment will host an evening of classic R&B featuring Ginuwine, Donell Jones, Adina Howard, and Kut Klose. Ginuwine will perform hits like “Differences,” “In Those Jeans,” and “Pony.” Donell Jones will deliver favorites such as “U Know What’s Up” and “Where I Wanna Be.” Adina Howard will bring her signature song “Freak Like Me” to the stage, and Kut Klose will perform their mid-’90s hits “I Like” and “Surrender.”
Black Charlotte: A Poetic Celebration of Place & Folk at Carolina Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Black Charlotte: A Poetic Celebration of Place & Folk is a live performance honoring Charlotte’s Black history through spoken word. Fifteen poets have crafted an album paying homage to the city’s historically Black neighborhoods, influential figures, and pivotal moments. The event features performances by Jay Ward, Bluz Rogers, Jah Smalls, Sir Abstraxxx, Cookie, and others. A community conversation will follow the show.

NEA Jazz Master and Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett will kick off JazzArts Charlotte’s Season 22 of the Jazz Room with his sextet, performing classics and selections from his acclaimed album, Sounds from the Ancestors. Garrett’s distinguished career includes collaborations with legends such as Miles Davis, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Donald Byrd, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, and the Duke Ellington Orchestra. The Jazz Room, Charlotte’s longest-running jazz series, offers an intimate setting with tables and a full bar, reminiscent of classic music rooms of yesteryear.

Chicago house music legend Derrick Carter will hit the stage at The Music Yard this weekend with Charlotte DJs That Guy Smitty and Tommy Pierogi. Carter often pays homage to black music of the ’70s, blending disco, soul, jazz, funk, and R&B.
Arts & Science Council’s Midnight Marathon at Mint Museum Randolph (4 p.m. to 12 a.m.)

Charlotte’s Arts & Science Council is turning up the creative energy with Midnight Marathon — an all-night performance art fundraiser at Mint Museum Randolph. Nearly 50 artists will deliver nonstop music, comedy, theater, film, and dance from 4 p.m. to midnight, with a brief intermission from 8 to 9 p.m. Enjoy local food trucks, drinks, and a vibrant celebration of the Queen City’s arts scene.
