Monday, April 7 

Poppy with opener House of Protection at The Fillmore (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $53 plus 

Experimental pop/metal artist Moriah Rose Pereira, better known by her stage name Poppy, brings her They’re All Around Us Tour to Charlotte this week, joined by Los Angeles electronic hardcore rock band House of Protection. Poppy is coming off the release of her latest album, Negative Spaces, which dropped in November.

See Bird Go Presents All My Friends Are Fly at Snug Harbor (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $10 plus

All My Friends Are Fly is a recurring event series curated by DJ See Bird Go, featuring R&B, Amapiano, house, and hip-hop. The weekly dance party includes special guest performances and DJ sets.

Tuesday, April 8 

Half Alive, The Walters, and Mehro at The Fillmore (7:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $50.75 plus

Long Beach, California indie pop band Half Alive, known for their hits “Still Feel” and “The Fall,” will perform at The Fillmore this week, joined by Chicago’s The Walters and fast-rising indie-folk rock artist Mehro.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies at Spectrum Center (7:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $24.47 plus

The Hornets take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in their final home game of the season. While Charlotte has been eliminated from playoff contention, Memphis is battling for the sixth seed to avoid the play-in tournament. After LaMelo Ball underwent season-ending surgery on his ankle and wrist earlier this month, CLTure writer James Plowright evaluated his 2024-25 season and future.

Squirrel Nut Zippers at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $36.94 plus 

Trailblazing Chapel Hill, North Carolina, gypsy jazzsters Squirrel Nut Zippers return to Charlotte this week to take fans on a journey through the origins of jazz with their new show, Jazz from the Back O’ Town. Known for their blend of Delta blues and 1930s-era swing, SNZ achieved commercial success during the swing revival of the late ’90s. The band will also perform favorites from their own catalog, adapted and arranged to more closely echo the sounds of 1920s New Orleans.

Wednesday, April 9 

Experience Hendrix at Bojangles Coliseum (7:30 p.m.)

Tickets: $27.80 plus 

The Experience Hendrix Tour celebrates the legacy of Jimi Hendrix, featuring guitarists Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Zakk Wylde, Eric Johnson, Devon Allman, Samantha Fish, and Noah Hunt. The three-hour performance will showcase unique renditions of Hendrix’s iconic tracks such as “Purple Haze,” “Little Wing,” and “Voodoo Child,” with each artist bringing their own distinctive style, honoring Hendrix.

ONEWE at Blackbox Theater (7:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $59.42 

Alternative K-pop rock band ONEWE will perform in Charlotte this week, following the release of their new album We: Dream Chaser in March.

New Translations with opener Ali Forrest at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $19 plus 

Up-and-coming Nashville synth-rock band New Translations will headline Neighborhood Theatre on their tour in support of their album Vacation, released on February 14. They’ll be joined by Charlotte indie folk singer-songwriter Ali Forrest, who released her debut full-length project Cagefighter in January.

FOMO Night – Wednesday Night Live at Levine Avenue of the Arts (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

Tickets: Free

On Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., enjoy free access to The Mint Museum, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Harvey B. Gantt Center, with DJs and bars serving drinks. Then, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., the block party kicks off on Levine Avenue of the Arts.

AWOLNATION with opener Bryce Fox at The Fillmore (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $48 plus

AWOLNATION, the alternative pop/rock band best known for their massive Diamond-certified hit, “Sail,” will perform in Charlotte this week in support of their fifth studio album, The Phantom Five, released in August. Joining them on stage will be Nashville-based electro-rock/blues artist Bryce Fox.

Spy with openers Brass Tongue, Laid Out, and Jiu Jitsu at The Milestone (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $15 plus

Bay Area hardcore punk band Spy will headline The Milestone on Wednesday night, supporting their new EP, Seen Enough, released on February 21. They’ll be joined by hardcore bands Brass Tongue, Laid Out, and Jiu Jitsu as openers.



Thursday, April 10  

The Millennium Tour at Spectrum Center (8:00 p.m.)

Relive your favorite Y2K memories with an all-star cast of 2000s R&B and hip-hop acts, including Trey Songz, Omarion, and Bow Wow, along with performances from Rick Ross, Plies, Boosie, Ying Yang Twins, RSVP, and Nivea. It’s an evening full of nostalgic hits from artists who defined an era.

Lane 8 with opener Otherwish at The Fillmore (7:00 p.m.)

Renowned Mexican comedian, musician, and radio personality, Franco Escamilla brings his wit and signature charm to Ovens Auditorium for an evening of hilarious storytelling and jokes.

Forrest Frank with opener Elevation Rhythm at Bojangles Coliseum (7:00 p.m.)

Christian pop singer/rapper and producer Forrest Frank will perform a sold-out show at Bojangles Coliseum. Best known for his songs “Up,” “Good Day,” and “No Longer Bound,” Frank’s latest album Child of God debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. holding the spot for seventeen consecutive weeks.

Cardinal Bloom with openers Alexa Jenson and Jackson Harden at Snug Harbor (9:00 p.m.)

Nicotine Dolls with opener Wic Whitney at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $30 plus 

New York City-based alternative pop/rock band Nicotine Dolls, best known for their songs “What Makes You Sad” and “The Best,” will headline the Neighborhood Theatre on Thursday, April 10, at 8:00 PM. The performance supports their debut album, An Attempt at Romantic, released on March 7. Arkansas native and Chicago-based soul/hip-hop artist Wic Whitney will open the show.

Friday, April 11 

Ginuwine, Donell Jones, Adina Howard, and Kut Klose at Ovens Auditorium (7:00 p.m.)

Frankie Farr Entertainment will host an evening of classic R&B featuring Ginuwine, Donell Jones, Adina Howard, and Kut Klose. Ginuwine will perform hits like “Differences,” “In Those Jeans,” and “Pony.” Donell Jones will deliver favorites such as “U Know What’s Up” and “Where I Wanna Be.” Adina Howard will bring her signature song “Freak Like Me” to the stage, and Kut Klose will perform their mid-’90s hits “I Like” and “Surrender.”

Black Charlotte: A Poetic Celebration of Place & Folk at Carolina Theatre (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $10 plus

Black Charlotte: A Poetic Celebration of Place & Folk is a live performance honoring Charlotte’s Black history through spoken word. Fifteen poets have crafted an album paying homage to the city’s historically Black neighborhoods, influential figures, and pivotal moments. The event features performances by Jay Ward, Bluz Rogers, Jah Smalls, Sir Abstraxxx, Cookie, and others. A community conversation will follow the show.

STRFKR with openers Valgur and Happy Sad Face at The Underground (8:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $35.25 plus

Portland-based indie rock/pop band STRFKR, led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Hodges, will perform at The Underground in Charlotte. Known for their fusion of indie rock, synth-pop, and electronica, the band is touring in support of their 2024 album, Parallel Realms, released through Polyvinyl Records. They’ll be joined by Joshua Tree, California-based psychedelic pop project Happy Sad Face.

Charlotte 49ers vs. East Carolina University at Truist Field (6:05 p.m.)

Jazz Room: Kenny Garrett at Stage Door Theater (6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.)

Tickets: $35 plus 

NEA Jazz Master and Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett will kick off JazzArts Charlotte’s Season 22 of the Jazz Room with his sextet, performing classics and selections from his acclaimed album, Sounds from the Ancestors. Garrett’s distinguished career includes collaborations with legends such as Miles Davis, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Donald Byrd, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, and the Duke Ellington Orchestra. The Jazz Room, Charlotte’s longest-running jazz series, offers an intimate setting with tables and a full bar, reminiscent of classic music rooms of yesteryear.

Christian Sands at Middle C Jazz (6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.)

Derrick Carter with openers That Guy Smitty and Tommy Pierogi at The Music Yard (6:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $27.62

Chicago house music legend Derrick Carter will hit the stage at The Music Yard this weekend with Charlotte DJs That Guy Smitty and Tommy Pierogi. Carter often pays homage to black music of the ’70s, blending disco, soul, jazz, funk, and R&B.

Arts & Science Council’s Midnight Marathon at Mint Museum Randolph (4 p.m. to 12 a.m.)

Tickets: $40 plus

Charlotte’s Arts & Science Council is turning up the creative energy with Midnight Marathon — an all-night performance art fundraiser at Mint Museum Randolph. Nearly 50 artists will deliver nonstop music, comedy, theater, film, and dance from 4 p.m. to midnight, with a brief intermission from 8 to 9 p.m. Enjoy local food trucks, drinks, and a vibrant celebration of the Queen City’s arts scene.

Eggy at Visulite Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Tickets: $21 plus

Genre-fusing, Connecticut-based band Eggy will play Charlotte’s Visulite Theatre Friday night. Known for their improvisational live shows that showcase their blend of rock, funk, jazz, and soul influences, they are touring in support of their latest album, Waiting Game.

Husbands with opener Jaguar Sun at Neighborhood Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Modern Alibi with opener Sweet Spine at Amos’ Southend (8:00 p.m.) 

Tickets: $20 plus

Charlotte alternative rockers Modern Alibi will celebrate their debut full-length album, American Radio (released on April 4) at Amos’ Southend. Founded by singer-songwriter and musician Holden Scott, the band consists of lead guitarist Sloane Letourneau, bassist Josh King, and drummer Christian Sturt. They’ll be joined by Greenville, South Carolina shoegaze/grunge three-piece Sweet Spine.

Lakebed Fest at Petra’s (6:00 p.m.)

A mini fest spotlighting some of Charlotte’s boundary-pushing artists takes place this week at Petra’s. The lineup features a range of experimental sounds and genres, including avant-garde jazz duos Ghost Trees and Okapi, psych-pop artist Jphono1, the experimental lo-fi indie rock of Dylan Gilbert, the ambient folk of Kadey Ballard, genre-bending rapper Phaze Gawd, and the hip-hop beats of DJ/producer Justin Aswell.

Larry Fleet with opener Everette at The Fillmore (8:00 p.m.)

Saturday, April 12 

Record Store Day 2025 

Record Store Day 2025 is this Saturday, April 12, and independent record stores worldwide will offer exclusive releases and promos. Pet Palooza at Truist Field (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Humane Society of Charlotte hosts its annual Pet Palooza — a celebration of pets with live music, food trucks, pet-focused vendors, and activities for all ages. For over 25 years, the annual fundraising walk and festival have brought together families and their pets for a day of fun and philanthropy. The walk starts at 10 a.m., followed by the vendor festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

NoDa Hood Market (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.)

Alternative metal rockers Disturbed, best known for their hit songs “Down with the Sickness,” “Stricken,” and “Inside the Fire,” will headline a three-band bill at Spectrum Center this month, joined by North Carolina native post-grunge band Daughtry and San Antonio alt-rock outfit Nothing More.

Coughing Dove, the alternative country musical project of Charlotte-based singer-songwriter Nicholas Holman, will play Petra’s Saturday night with Denver “emo country” band Clementine Was Right and Arkansas indie folk outfit Jude Brothers.

Naked Giants with opener Girl and Girl at Visulite Theatre (8:00 p.m.)

Seattle indie rock trio Naked Giants, known for their genre-bending mix of garage rock, psychedelia, and grunge, will headline Visulite Theatre in support of their 2024 album Shine Away, released in October. They’ll be joined by Australian indie rock band Girl and Girl, who are signed to Sub Pop Records.

The Crystal Method at Blackbox Theater (10 p.m.)

The Crystal Method, the electronic music group originally formed in 1993 by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland (now just Kirkland), will perform at Blackbox Theater’s Cue Room Saturday night. Pioneers of the big beat genre and best known for their early 2000s hit “Name of the Game” their music has appeared in numerous films, TV shows, video games, and ads over the years.

Charlotte indie shoegaze rockers Wine Pride will headline Snug Harbor Saturday night, joined by Wilmington dreampop band Lauds, Charlotte indie rockers Wilde Green, and DJ Fat Keith Richards. Wine Pride released their self-titled debut album in 2023 and the EP Lost Years in May 2024.

Jim Jeffries: Son of a Carpenter Tour at Ovens Auditorium (7:00 p.m.)

Nashville alternative pop band Nightly brings their 2025 tour to Charlotte, celebrating the release of their new album, Songs to Drive To. Formed in 2016 by cousins Jonathan Capeci and Joey Beretta, along with drummer Nicholas Sainato, they are best known for their hit song “Twenty Something” and released their debut album, Night, Love You, in 2020.

Charlotte StrEATs Festival at Gateway Village (12 p.m. to 4 p.m.)

Tickets: Free (Cocktail Tasting: $26.81)

The fourth annual Charlotte StrEATs Festival returns this Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Gateway Village. The event celebrates the city’s culinary scene with special guest chef and television personality Eric Adjepong, who will host a live cooking demonstration. The festival will also feature neighborhood cook-off battles, an artisan market, cocktail demos, tastings, and local food trucks.

Michigan post-hardcore band Chiodos brings their 20th-anniversary tour celebrating their seminal album All’s Well That Ends Well. They’ll be joined by emo rockers Hawthorne Heights, New York metalcore band Emmure, and Atlanta’s experimental metal band The Callous Daoboys.
