Charlotte began the 2025-26 season with a two-game swing through New England, picking up a 4-3 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds before dropping a 6-3 decision to the Providence Bruins. Against Springfield, the Checkers came out firing, scoring three goals in the first 12 minutes and holding on after Jack Devine’s second-period power-play goal proved decisive. The following day, Charlotte led after the first period in Providence but couldn’t contain the Bruins’ third-period surge. The team outshot their opponents in both contests, continuing a trend from last season. Back on home ice for the first time since last year’s Calder Cup Finals, the Checkers will face the Iowa Wild, who enter the series 0-2. The team will also unveil their new primary home jerseys, inspired by their NHL affiliate, the back-to-back Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers.
