The Broadway sensation Wicked invites audiences to see the Land of Oz in a whole new light. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the musical tells the untold story of two young women who couldn’t be more different: Elphaba, born with emerald-green skin, fiery, gifted, and often misunderstood; and Galinda, charming, ambitious, and adored by all. Their rivalry soon blossoms into an unexpected friendship — one that is ultimately tested when the world decides to call one of them “good” and the other “wicked.”

Visitors will find rare skate decks, original artwork, and archival media spanning the 1980s to today, alongside works by influential artists like Marc McKee, Sean Cliver, and Andy Jenkins. Nostalgic touches include VHS skate tapes, early Black Sheep skate videos, and photos documenting Charlotte’s skate scene in the ’90s and 2000s. At its core, Central Impact is a tribute to the skaters, artists, and DIY builders who shaped the Southeast’s skateboarding culture. Proceeds from the exhibition benefit the Charlotte Skate Foundation, supporting community-driven skate spaces like Kilborne DIY.

The Panthers aim to bounce back after a 42-13 loss to the New England Patriots as they host the Miami Dolphins at Bank of America Stadium for their second home game of the season. Carolina struggled in all phases, surrendering 42 unanswered points after an early touchdown. Bryce Young threw for 150 yards and a touchdown before being replaced late in the game by Andy Dalton, while several players — including David Moore, Chandler Zavala, Cam Jackson, and Dalevon Campbell — exited with injuries. Special teams also struggled, with the Panthers missing an extra point and a field goal while allowing Marcus Jones to return a punt 87 yards for a touchdown. Miami, coming off a short week after Monday night’s win over the Jets but losing wide receiver Tyreek Hill to a knee injury, will look to build momentum and bolster coach Mike McDaniel’s job security. The Panthers, meanwhile, will be eager to redeem themselves after an embarrassing outing against New England. Sixth-round draft pick Jimmy Horn Jr. is expected to see his first regular-season action with David Moore week-to-week due to an elbow injury. The rookie will hopefully provide a much-needed spark for Carolina’s 24th-ranked offense.
