The Hornets kick off the 2025-26 season at home on Wednesday, October 22, at the newly renovated Spectrum Center against the Brooklyn Nets — and we’re giving away a Kon Knueppel jersey from the Hornets Fan Shop along with four tickets to the game!
Charlotte enters the season riding the momentum of its first Summer League Championship, led by No. 4 overall draft pick Kon Knueppel, alongside contributions from KJ Simpson and rookies Liam McNeeley, Ryan Kalkbrenner, and Sion James. The team also added veteran guard Collin Sexton from a trade with Utah, providing much-needed experience in the backcourt as Tre Mann returns after a back injury limited him to just 13 games last season.
With LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller fully recovered from injuries, Knueppel’s range and consistency on both ends of the court, Moussa Diabaté’s high-energy athleticism and defense, and Kalkbrenner — the fifth-year senior drafted out of Creighton — emerging as a promising rim protector capable of meaningful NBA minutes, the Hornets boast more depth than they’ve had in several years. The team is poised to improve on last season’s 19-win, injury-plagued campaign and look to secure a playoff berth for the first time since 2015-16 in Coach Charles Lee’s second full season.
