As the Charlotte Knights enter the final month of the season, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox will host a special evening for their fourth annual HBCU Night. The Friday night game will also feature a meet-and-greet on the concourse from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. with Charlotte Hornets rookies Kon Knueppel, Liam McNeeley, Ryan Kalkbrenner, and Sion James. The four rookies are coming off their first-ever Summer League championship and are preparing for training camp and the team’s first preseason game in October.

The celebration of HBCUs will include performances by Johnson C. Smith University’s marching band, the International Institute of Sound, The Luv-a-Bulls, and The Divine 9. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free HBCU bucket hat, and the evening will conclude with a post-game fireworks show.
