The wait is over– the NBA has released the regular season schedules for the 2021-22 season, and we finally know when the Hornets will be back on the court.

Charlotte opens the season on October 20 when they welcome the Indiana Pacers to The Hive. The first of the Hornets’ four nationally televised regular season games comes on October 29 in Miami against the Heat on ESPN. Road contests versus the Warriors (November 3) and Celtics (January 19), plus a Ball Brothers showdown in Charlotte against the Bulls (February 9) round out the primetime games for the upcoming season. Kemba Walker will also return to Charlotte with his new team, the New York Knicks on Friday, November 12. In addition to the nationally televised games, the Hornets will also be featured on NBATV four times throughout the season.

The Hornets don’t have an easy start to the season; before October ends, they will have faced Boston, Brooklyn and Miami, three of the East’s expected contenders and then comes a five-game road trip. Their longest home stand spans five games from March 16 to 25, and the longest road trip is a six-game west coast swing in mid-December.

As was the case last season, all regular season games will be televised regionally on Bally Sports Southeast and streamed live on the Bally Sports website and app.

Best of all, the Hornets social media team gifted us with a behind-the-scenes look at Eric Collins brewing up new nicknames and catch phrases for the upcoming season.
