Fresh off her incredible headlining set at Lollapalooza over the weekend, rapper Doechii has announced a North American tour that includes a stop at Charlotte’s Bojangles Coliseum on Thursday, October 23. The show marks the 26-year-old’s first-ever performance in North Carolina — following a career-defining year.
The Florida native, born Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, won Best Rap Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year for her breakthrough mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal (2024), showcasing her prowess as one of hip-hop’s most inventive and dynamic new voices.
Doechii first gained national attention with her independently released debut EP, Oh the Places You’ll Go (2020), anchored by the viral TikTok hit “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake.” The track’s popularity propelled her into the spotlight and caught the attention of major labels. In 2021, she followed up with the EP Bra-Less, featured on Isaiah Rashad’s single “Wat U Sed,” and performed with him at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards — the same year she opened for SZA on tour.
In 2022, she made history as the first female rapper signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). Her major-label debut, Alligator Bites Never Heal, dropped in August 2024 to critical acclaim.
Presale tickets will be available starting Friday, August 8 at 10 a.m., with general public sales opening Monday, August 11 at 10 a.m.
