Rock icon and guitar virtuoso Eddie Van Halen has passed away at the age of 65. Founder of the chart-topping rock band Van Halen with brother Alex, Eddie was widely considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Born in Amsterdam, his family moved to Pasadena, California in 1962 and the brothers formed Van Halen in 1972, becoming a staple in the mid-70’s L.A. rock scene. One of the top-selling rock bands in music history, Van Halen went on to sell over 56 million albums in the U.S. and more than 80 million albums worldwide.
