The Broadway jukebox musical A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical will play in Charlotte this week at Belk Theater, telling the inspiring story of one of America’s greatest hitmakers, Neil Diamond. Created in collaboration with Diamond himself, A Beautiful Noise is an uplifting musical about how a Brooklyn kid became a chart-topping music icon.

With 140 million albums sold and a catalog of classics including “America,” “Forever in Blue Jeans,” and “Sweet Caroline,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner is celebrated in this exhilarating musical memoir. The story is structured around a therapy session, where an older Neil Diamond reflects on his life and career, revisiting key moments through flashbacks and performances by his younger self.

A Beautiful Noise opened on Broadway in 2022 and grossed more than $1 million at the box office in the week leading up to its premiere. Titled after Diamond’s 1976 album of the same name, the story was written by Anthony McCarten (Darkest Hour, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes, I Wanna Dance with Somebody).
