The Charlotte Checkers host the Hartford Wolf Pack this weekend at Bojangles Coliseum for a two-game series. The Wolf Pack has dominated the Checkers with a 4-1 record this season, although Charlotte won the last meeting 3-0, led by rookie goalie Cooper Black’s third shutout. John Leonard leads the Checkers offense with 19 goals in his first season with Charlotte, while Black has won his last four starts with a .959 save percentage and two shutouts. The Checkers are currently third in the Atlantic Division standings with a 25-14-3-2 record and Hartford is in seventh place at 19-22-4-1.

The weekend’s games feature several promotions including a Valentine’s Day deal with $14 tickets and special date packages. Sunday’s Family Game, presented by Fairfield Inn and Suites, offers $10 savings per ticket when purchasing four or more. Fans can also participate in a food drive presented by AlphaGraphics South Charlotte — donate five or more items to receive a free ticket voucher for the March 9 game. Additionally, Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Night will donate $5 per ticket purchased through a special link to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Sunday’s game will also feature a Hockey is for Everyone package, including a game ticket and themed t-shirt.
