The Hornets will take on the Orlando Magic for the fourth and final time this season, hoping to avoid the season sweep. Charlotte is coming off a 122-105 loss to Miami and have officially been eliminated from postseason contention. Despite an early 12-point lead by Charlotte, Miami closed the first half on a 24-4 run and followed with a 39-point third quarter, which all but sealed the victory for the Heat. Nick Smith Jr. scored 19 points, and LaMelo Ball recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists. Andrew Wiggins scored 42 points (the second-highest total of his career) for Miami, while Tyler Herro added 29 on Sunday night.
The Orlando Magic enter the game in eighth place with a 34-38 record, coming off a 118-106 win over the Lakers. With just 10 games left in the regular season, they’ll need a strong finish to overtake Atlanta and avoid the play-in tournament. Franz Wagner scored 32 points with eight assists against the Lakers, while Paolo Banchero added 30 points and seven rebounds. Anthony Black provided a spark off the bench with 17 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Banchero is averaging 30.3 points per game on 50% shooting, including 42.1% from three-point range over his last three games.
