California alternative pop-punk legends Green Day will perform in Charlotte for the first time since 2005 (Cricket Arena), celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough 1994 album, Dookie, and the 20th anniversary of American Idiot. Green Day will perform both Dookie and American Idiot in their entirety, along with a few more fan favorites from their catalog.
The Grammy Award-winning rock band, consisting of singer-songwriter and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, drummer Tré Cool, and bassist Mike Dirnt, released their fourteenth studio album, Saviors, in January.
Berkeley, California punk rock band Rancid, formed in 1991, are known for their blend of punk, ska and reggae influences with their hits like “Ruby Soho,” “Time Bomb,” and “Fall Back Down.” The band currently consists of original members Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar) and Matt Freeman (bass) with Lars Frederiksen (guitar) and Branden Steineckert (drums). They have released 10 studio albums, with their latest, Tomorrow Never Comes, in 2023.
Young Los Angeles punk rockers, The Linda Lindas, will be performing in Charlotte for the first time following a whirlwind few years since the release of their viral hit, “Racist, Sexist Boy.” Signing to famed punk rock label Epitaph in 2021, the band released their debut album, Growing up, in April of 2022. They have toured with Paramore, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Japanese Breakfast, and performed at major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Boston Calling.
