Patois Counselors is a Charlotte-based experimental rock band led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bo White. The band released its debut album, Proper Release, in 2018, followed by The Optimal Seat in 2020, and their latest LP, Limited Sphere, in October. Their live shows feature a rotating cast of musicians, including Jane Askew (drums), Taylor Knox (drums), Miles Knox (bass), Krizia Torres (synth), Robin Doermann (synth), Lenny Muckle (guitar), Eddie Schneider (guitar), Prentiss McDaniels (woodwinds), and Scott Thompson (piano).
Dunums is the post-punk project of Palestinian-American singer-songwriter and musician Sijal Nasralla (The Muslims) from Durham, North Carolina. Formed in 2009 in response to crises in Gaza and Syria, the band released its fourth album, I Wasn’t That Thought (IWTT), in October through Sleepy Cat Records. Written from the perspective of Nasralla’s daughter, Tasneem, IWTT explores childhood wonder, trauma, and love as a force for change.
Zodiac Lovers is the lo-fi indie experimental project of Charlotte native and producer Casey Malone. Malone released his debut project, Forever Water Songs, in 2019, and a recent collaborative EP, For Heaven’s Sake, with Dirty Art Club and King Caiman in May.
