Shovels & Rope are a folk rock outfit from Charleston, South Carolina, comprised of husband and wife duo, Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst. Formed in 2008, they broke through with their 2012 song, “Birmingham,” from their album, O’ Be Joyful, released in 2012 through Dualtone Records. The duo recently released a new album, Something Is Working Up Above My Head, on September 6. Trent and Hearst are also well known as the founders of High Water Festival in their hometown of Charleston.
Al Olender is an indie folk singer-songwriter and musician from Upstate New York, who released her debut album, Easy Crier, in 2022.
