Puma has released photos and details on the first-ever LaMelo Ball signature shoe. The all bright red colorway sneaker called the ‘MB.01’ is set be released in December of 2021 retailing at $125, according to the Puma website.
The signature shoe is also the first for Puma since relaunching their basketball line in 2018. Co-designed by LaMelo, the fashionable performance basketball kicks feature Melo’s signature ‘MB.01’ logo and “1 of 1” on the tongue, while the sole reveals the word “rare,” along with another Ball catchphrase, “Not from here,” spread across the lower tongue of the sneaker.
“I am excited to officially launch my first signature basketball shoe with Puma. Puma was great to work with during the design process. After signing with the brand last October, we got to work on MB.01,” Ball told Sports Illustrated. “I love wearing bright colors, so I knew early on that the MB.01 had to have some show-stopping colors and a cool design. I wanted to work with Puma to create a basketball sneaker that’s different, and incorporated elements from my personal style. I wanted a shoe that represents me but also is something that everyone wants to wear not only on court but off court, too. I think Puma really captured my vision. I love the way MB.01 turned out; I can’t wait to wear them all season.”
Following Ball’s Rookie of the Year campaign, the shoes will surely be in high demand with a strategic release in December. You can sign up for updates on the release and be the “first to know” on the official Puma website.
