25 years after the late Wu-Tang member Ol’ Dirty Bastard released his solo debut, Return of the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version, the RIAA has officially certified the album platinum. To celebrate the accomplishment, Amazon has released a 17-minute mini-doc featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews titled, “Unique: ‘Return to The 36 Chambers’ 25 Years Later.”
The mini-doc features exclusive interviews with Wu-Tang mastermind RZA, Raekwon, Bobbito Garcia, wife Iceland Jones, son Barsum Unique Jones (aka YDB), and longtime Wu-Tang manager, Mitchell “Divine” Diggs.
In addition to the short documentary, Rhino Records has released a newly remastered 43-track Deluxe Edition of Return of the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. The album includes B-sides, promo-only releases, rare instrumentals and “stripped” versions of “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” and “Brooklyn Zoo.”
