Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G., Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The inductees for the 2020 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced. This year’s honorees will be Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G., Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Doobie Brothers, and T. Rex. The 2020 class saw four first-time nominees: The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G. and T. Rex all voted in with factors such as an artist’s musical influence, length of career, and innovation being considered by a voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians and members of the music industry.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also announced recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award, honoring non-musician industry professionals. Jon Landau, a journalist best known for his production work with Bruce Springsteen and Irving Azoff, CEO of Azoff MSG Entertainment will receive these honors.

The 35th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on May 2 in Cleveland, Ohio and broadcast live on HBO.
