Following the release of his new album Maybe in Nirvana, St. Louis rapper Smino has announced a U.S. tour and will return to Charlotte (The Fillmore) on May 22, joined by up-and-coming Tennessee-born, L.A.-based artist Samara Cyn.
Smino, the founder of the music collective Zero Fatigue — which includes members Bari, Monte Booker, Jay2, and Ravyn Lenae — is also part of the supergroup Ghetto Sage with Chicago rappers Saba and Noname.
He released his debut studio album, blkswn, in 2017 to critical acclaim, Maybe in Nirvana, his fourth full-length project, follows 2018’s Noir and 2022’s Luv 4 Rent. Known for his unique lyrical style and experimental neo-soul/hip-hop sound, Smino has performed at major festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Governor’s Ball.
Samara Cyn, who is also known for her distinctive voice and lyrical style (often compared to Smino), released her debut EP, The Drive Home, on October 25. Alternative R&B/pop multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Mamii, who is signed to Roc Nation, will open the show.
Tickets to the Smino, Samara Cyn, and Mamii tour stop in Charlotte on Thursday, May 22 at The Fillmore are available here and Gametime.
