After winning his first long-overdue Academy award for 2018’s BlacKkKlansman, Spike Lee has released the trailer for his latest joint, Da 5 Bloods. A Netflix distributed film directed by Lee, Da 5 Bloods stars Delroy Lindo (Malcom X, Clockers, Crooklyn), Clarke Peters (The Wire), and Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther, 42), following four veterans returning to Vietnam to search for their squad leader’s remains and a buried treasure they found during the Vietnam War.
The trailer features the song “Time Has Come Today,” by psychedelic soul band The Chamber Brothers and interweaves historic footage from the Vietnam War era with modern backdrops in Southeast Asia.
Da 5 Bloods is schedule to be released on June 12 exclusively on Netflix.
