Back in November, Durham-based electropop duo Sylvan Esso embarked on a seven-show run with some of their favorite musicians including Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak), Matt MacCaughan (Bon Iver), Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Molly Sarlé (Mountain Man). The tour saw two sold-out nights at Durham Performing Arts Center along with shows at Ryman Auditorium (Nashville, TN) and culminating in New York City at Bowery Ballroom.
The tour, aptly titled WITH, showcased a 10-piece band reimagining a set of 20-plus Sylvan Esso songs with rich synthesizers, saxophone, live drums, layered vocals and a hypnotizing light show.
The duo of North Carolina natives consisting of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn documented their experience with their friends during the tour and have announced a hour-long concert film to be released on Thursday, April 23 at 9 p.m. EST on YouTube.
