‘90s/2000s R&B powerhouses Brandy and Monica — best known for their 1998 multi-platinum duet, “The Boy Is Mine” — are co-headlining a national tour, coming to Charlotte’s Spectrum Center on November 13, along with Kelly Rowland and Muni Long. The monumental song topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks, won a Grammy Award, and became the best-selling single of 1998 in the U.S.

Brandy Norwood, one of the most prominent R&B stars of the ’90s and 2000s, also starred in the UPN sitcom Moesha (1996-2001), one of the first successful TV shows centered around a Black teenage girl. In 1997, she also portrayed Cinderella opposite Whitney Houston in a groundbreaking television adaptation. A Grammy, Billboard, American Music Award, and NAACP Image Award winner, Brandy has sold over 40 million records worldwide.

“This really is a full-circle moment. Monica and I coming together again isn’t just about the music — it’s about honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come,” Norwood in the official press release. “‘The Boy Is Mine’ was a defining chapter in R&B, and to share the stage all these years later is bigger than a reunion — it’s a celebration of growth, sisterhood, and the love our fans have given us from day one.”

Monica released her debut album, Miss Thang, at just 14 years old, and it went triple Platinum, powered by hits like “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days)” and “Before You Walk Out of My Life.” Her 1998 follow-up, The Boy Is Mine, is considered a cornerstone of late-‘90s R&B, featuring chart-toppers like “Angel of Mine,” “For You I Will,” and the iconic title track with Brandy.

The two artists reunited in 2020 for a highly anticipated Verzuz battle — a cultural moment that celebrated the careers and legacies of two of R&B’s most beloved voices. Kelly Rowland, best known for her work with Destiny’s Child, and Muni Long, who released her Grammy-nominated (Best R&B Album) project Revenge in 2024, will also perform on the tour stop in Charlotte.

Presale for the tour starts on Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m. (code: BPC) with tickets going on sale to the public on Friday, June 27 at 10 a.m.
