Rookie Kon Knueppel has been on a record pace with the Hornets’ top scorers sidelined, becoming the first player in NBA history to total 150-plus points and 30-plus three-pointers in the first 10 games of his career. Despite Knueppel’s emergence, Miles Bridges’ increased scoring output, and fellow rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner shooting 80.8 percent from the field with 2.3 blocks per game, the Hornets sit at 3-7. They will look to get back in the win column against a Bucks team that ranks fourth in field goal percentage with newly acquired big man Myles Turner, who was signed in the offseason.

R&B singer-songwriter Leon Thomas, best known for his 2024 breakout hit “Mutt,” returns to Charlotte this week for a sold-out show at The Fillmore. The former Nickelodeon star and Broadway actor gained fame as Andre Harris on Victorious and appeared in Broadway productions The Lion King and The Color Purple before launching his music career. As part of the production duo The Rascals, Thomas has co-written and co-produced tracks for SZA, Ariana Grande, Drake, Rick Ross, Babyface, and Toni Braxton, winning his first Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for co-writing SZA’s hit “Snooze.” Thomas’ debut EP, Genesis, dropped in 2018, followed by his albums Electric Dusk and Mutt, the latter earning his first No. 1 on the R&B charts. He will be joined by New Orleans R&B/hip-hop artist Ambré, signed to Roc Nation.
