Charlotte Knights vs. Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (1:05 p.m.)
Tickets: $20 plus
Carolina Panthers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium (1:00 p.m.)
Tickets: $59.50 plus
The Panthers open the 2025 regular season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, led by first-year head coach Liam Coen and their dynamic first-round, dual-role Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter. Entering his second year as head coach, Dave Canales will look to improve on Carolina’s 5-12 record from last season, building on the momentum of quarterback Bryce Young, who threw for 2,104 yards, 15 touchdowns, six interceptions, and added five rushing touchdowns over the final 10 games. Jacksonville finished 4-13 in 2024, ranking 25th in total offense and 31st in total yards allowed, trailing only a Panthers team that struggled mightily on defense last season. With the return of Derrick Brown and key offseason additions — including Tre’von Moehrig, Turk Wharton, Bobby Brown III, Pat Jones II, Christian Rozeboom, rookie pass rushers Nic Scourton and Princely Umanmielen, and safety Lathan Ransom — Carolina’s defense should see significant improvement. First-round pick wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan will likely see plenty of targets following the trade of Adam Thielen, and with the offseason acquisition of Rico Dowdle, the Panthers will continue to emphasize the running game, building on Chuba Hubbard’s breakout season in which he rushed for 1,195 yards and 10 touchdowns on 4.8 yards per carry.
